Note: A
RFC 2616 defines the version of the HTTP protocol that is
in common use today, such as HTTP headers, the HTTP request
response flow and connection management. This document also
describes how caching and proxy servers should interact with
the Web.
RFC 2616 is the current specification for HTTP/1.1,
however, as of March 2011, it is currently being revised and
split into six documents; these include:

state, although they have been adopted by the

so this will change soon.)
In addition, various extensions have been proposed to HTTP,
which have been adopted by some clients and servers;
