I wasn't planning to buy more Pokémon cards this week, but then I saw that the Scarlet & Violet – Surging Sparks Booster Bundle was still in stock on Amazon for $45.02 following its massive restock during the Pokémon TCG surge. With the Amazon Spring Sale in full swing, it's the perfect time to snag some of these hot sets while they're available. My willpower crumbled faster than a 60 HP Basic facing a 390-damage Hydreigon ex.

My favorite? The Surging Sparks set is chaos in the best way possible. It boasts chase cards worthy of being slabbed, like the $432 Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rare. No, that's not a typo. This little electric mouse is not only a powerhouse in battle but also a prized collectible. Its Topaz Bolt move can clear nearly anything from the board, while Resolute Heart makes it frustratingly difficult to knock out.

Latias, being the rarer and pricier of the two at over $200, seems to embody that big sibling energy. Meanwhile, Milotic ex struts its stuff like a supermodel, playing with light and shadow, and effectively countering Tera Pokémon as if it were a meta card.

My personal favorite? Ceruledge. Its neon-infused art feels like a fever dream, and I mean that in the best way possible. This marks the first time its card has held significant value, and illustrator Rond truly deserves recognition. Ceruledge may not be a top-tier competitor, but with this stunning artwork, I couldn't care less.

For collectors, the value potential is undeniable. For players, some of these cards pack a punch on the battlefield. And if you simply enjoy shiny things and the thrill of spending $45 on cardboard, then you're in good company. I've already opened one box and am now telling myself I "need" another for research purposes.

The bundle comes with six booster packs, so while you're not guaranteed any big hits, considering how quickly these are selling, I wouldn't hesitate. After all, Pikachu won't pull itself.
