While *Avowed*'s Living Lands feel expansive, the main quest is surprisingly concise. Curious about what awaits after the credits roll? Let's explore the post-game experience in Obsidian's latest RPG.
Many RPG fans relish replaying the main quest on higher difficulties, wielding earned skills and gear. Unfortunately, Avowed currently lacks this New Game Plus feature at launch. However, given player demand, Obsidian may add it via a future update or DLC.
Even without New Game Plus, replayability exists. Avowed's impactful choices significantly alter the story and gameplay, making a fresh save worthwhile to explore different endings and character builds.

Avowed features four main regions, a secret final area, and a return to a major city (details withheld to avoid spoilers). Legendary-quality weapons and gear become crucial here. While the final areas provide a challenging experience, this doesn't extend to earlier regions, nor does it unlock new ones. Post-credits, you can't revisit the Living Lands as shaped by your choices.
Without New Game Plus or substantial endgame content, Avowed's post-game is somewhat limited. The final encounter is followed by animatic cutscenes detailing the consequences of your choices. Afterward, you're returned to the main menu.
From there, you can start a new game with a different Envoy or reload a previous save. Autosaves exist before the point of no return and the final encounter, allowing replay of those sections with different choices for varied story outcomes.
Reloading to before the point of no return also lets you revisit earlier regions, clean up the map, earn achievements, complete side quests, and collect missed items. Enemies in these regions won't scale to your level, making it incredibly satisfying to revisit Dawnshore, for example, with top-tier gear.
And that's the post-game experience in Avowed.
Avowed is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass.
