In Ivy Road and Annapurna Interactive's Wanderstop, players step into the shoes of Alta, a weary fighter seeking solace and recovery in a magical forest where she manages a cozy tea shop. The enchanting setting draws a diverse clientele, some of whom crave coffee, a beverage not typically on the menu. Here's your comprehensive guide on how to unlock and brew coffee in Wanderstop.
Which Customers Want Coffee in Wanderstop?
(Ivy Road/Annapurna Interactive)
During the fourth cycle in Wanderstop, a stunning humanoid bird graces the tea shop, seeking a refined cup of tea. Soon after, a trio of businessmen named Jerry, Larry, and Terry, dressed in suits and clutching briefcases, arrive en route to a boardroom presentation. Despite Alta's guidance that they're off course, they decline her offer of tea, insisting on coffee. Unwilling to leave without their preferred drink, they decide to wait until it's available.
Boro, the tea shop's owner, explains that coffee has never grown in the forest, leaving Alta initially frustrated. The arrival of Zenith, an interdimensional being fascinated by the businessmen, changes the game. Unlike the businessmen, Zenith agrees to try tea, finding the concept of "ingredients brewed with hot water" novel, as their only reference point is coffee.
How to Unlock Coffee Beans in Wanderstop
(Ivy Road/Annapurna Interactive)
To unlock coffee beans, serve Zenith a cup of tea infused with something valuable—be it a book, trinket, pot, mug, small plant, or photograph. Upon tasting the unique brew, Zenith's curiosity about the differences between tea and coffee leads to a discussion about coffee beans. Inspired, Zenith uses the Infinite Path to bring coffee beans to the forest, enabling their growth in the clearing for the first time. Instructions for harvesting and brewing these beans are added to Alta’s Field Guide.
How to Harvest and Brew Coffee in Wanderstop
Coffee beans sprout randomly in the clearing after Zenith's intervention. Harvest them similarly to fruits and seeds, storing them in your ingredients pocket or carrying them in your hand. They can also be placed on shelves, tables, floors, or the ground outside.
Before brewing, clean the dirt-covered beans using the dishwasher, awaiting their return via the dish trains in the tea room.
To brew coffee, pour water into the tea maker and heat it according to the order's specifications. Insert one coffee bean into the infuser, though additional beans or ingredients may be requested by customers. Activate the gear to pour the water over the bean, then transfer the brew to the kettle below, and finally, decant it into mugs for serving to customers, Boro, or Alta herself.
Introducing coffee not only satisfies the businessmen but also delights Zenith and provides a new option for other customers. Even Boro is willing to give it a try, though he admits it's not his favorite.
That's how you unlock, harvest, and brew coffee in Wanderstop.
