Following the critical and commercial success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, French developer Sandfall Interactive is now preparing for its next big project. In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz on May 27, COO and Producer François Meurisse confirmed that the studio is already thinking about what comes next.

"There will be another video game, for sure," Meurisse stated. While details remain scarce, the team is enthusiastic about exploring new ideas. He added, "I can't wait to dig more into the ideas we already have for the next game."

Meurisse also reflected on the growth the team has experienced over the course of developing Expedition 33. Many members were relatively new when the project began, but they've since built strong collaborative skills. He explained, "We learned to work together, and now we're in a much more efficient position than when we started five years ago. Of course, that also means higher expectations moving forward—but it's a challenge we’re excited to take on."

While there's no official word yet on whether the next game will be a sequel or an entirely new intellectual property, fans are still hopeful for additional content from the Expedition 33 universe. Just earlier this month, Lead Writer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen hinted positively at the possibility of DLC, fueling anticipation among players.
