The release of Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shed light on some of the exciting accessibility features that will be included in this updated version. One standout feature is the ability to adjust Game Speed, which allows players to slow down the action during intense moments. This can be particularly useful in high-pressure situations.

In a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog, Kevin McAllister, the Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, outlined the various accessibility enhancements. Players will have the option to modify Game Speed from 100% down to 75%, 50%, and 25%. According to McAllister, this feature is designed to assist players who may feel overwhelmed, especially during encounters with hordes of Freakers. "Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister explained. He further emphasized the importance of this feature with the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, aiming to make this unique combat experience more accessible.

Beyond Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered will also offer other accessibility options such as customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE (Quick Time Event) feature, which was previously limited to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.

While these accessibility features are set to enhance the PS5 version of the game, Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these options will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features like feedback and customization control options will necessitate a compatible controller.

Days Gone Remastered was officially announced back in February, boasting enhancements like an upgraded photo mode, permadeath and speedrun options, alongside these new accessibility features. This remastered edition of the 2019 biker-themed, post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Players who already own the PS4 version of Days Gone can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for just $10.
