This guide aims to provide players with the best builds and add-ons to maximize their effectiveness with this sinister Killer.
Updated on January 13, 2025, by Siddarth Narasimman: Despite being considered one of the weaker Killers, Michael Myers remains a favorite among new players. The buffs from Patch 8.4.0 have made him a more viable choice, making it the perfect time to explore the best strategies for this iconic horror figure.
Playing The Shape without access to other Killers' perks can be challenging, but with the right build, you can still dominate the trial. This build leverages Save the Best for Last to reduce chase times, while Sloppy Butcher slows down the game passively. Bitter Murmur and Hex: No One Escapes Death ensure you can finish off any remaining Survivors in the endgame without needing to stalk them extensively.
This build focuses on slowing down generator progress and enhancing early game performance, crucial for The Shape due to his limited map mobility. By focusing on a cluster of generators, using Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance and Deadlock, you can effectively disrupt Survivors' progress. Lethal Pursuer helps you locate Survivors quickly for early stalking, while Coup de Grâce improves your ability to navigate loops.
While not the most spectacular, the Memorial Flower at common rarity offers a valuable 11% increase to The Shape's stalking rate, enhancing his ability to build up power quickly.
Although it increases the Terror Radius in Evil Within III, the Dead Rabbit's 25% decrease in Terror Radius during Evil Within II is incredibly useful. Pair it with perks like Monitor and Abuse to manage your Terror Radius effectively.
This add-on provides a significant 25% bonus to stalking gain rate, making it an excellent choice when combined with the Tombstone Piece to mitigate the longer time needed to reach Evil Within III.
Enhancing The Shape's threat level during Evil Within III, the Hair Bow is a great choice. When paired with the J. Myers Memorial, it allows for consistent pressure across the map with multiple Evil Within III activations.
Arguably the strongest add-on for The Shape, the Tombstone Piece enables immediate kills upon reaching Evil Within III, regardless of the Survivor's hook state. This add-on outperforms the Ultra Rare Judith’s Tombstone by not imposing a speed penalty.
Offering 40 additional seconds to Evil Within III and an increased stalk rate, the Lock of Hair is a strong choice for players using Lethal Pursuer and J. Myers Memorial, although the Hair Bow remains generally superior.
Despite reducing the stalking rate by 200%, this add-on grants infinite Evil Within III, eliminating the need to manage your power and allowing instant downs without stalking.
