Delta Force: Elite Squad III | Pre-orders Now Open

Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for iOS and Android devices. This relaunch by Level Infinite, a Tencent subsidiary, marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market, with a planned release in late January 2025. The game boasts diverse missions, modes, and a tactical gameplay approach.

For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Delta Force is a long-standing name in first-person shooters, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the US military's elite Delta Force unit, the series has always emphasized realistic weaponry and gadgetry.

Tencent's revival features a "Warfare" mode offering large-scale battles reminiscent of Battlefield, and an "Operations" mode focused on extraction-style gameplay. A single-player campaign, heavily inspired by the movie Black Hawk Down and the Battle of Mogadishu, is also slated for 2025.

Addressing Cheating Concerns

Despite high anticipation, Delta Force hasn't been without its controversies. Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, involving restrictions on certain software and hardware for the PC version, have drawn criticism. While the mobile platform may present fewer cheating challenges, this initial controversy might still affect player interest. However, the potential for a smoother, cheat-free mobile experience could yet see Delta Force meet expectations.
