A Kindling Forest: A Solo Developer's Clever Auto-Runner
Dennis Berndtsson, a high school teacher and solo game developer, presents his latest creation: A Kindling Forest. This isn't your average action-adventure; it's a side-scrolling auto-runner brimming with innovative mechanics. Expect forests, arrows, and a generous helping of lava!
The Game's Narrative:
An ancient demon unleashes chaos upon the world, prompting forest spirits to awaken a long-forgotten archer. Armed with a bow and arrow, the archer embarks on a perilous quest to vanquish the demon. But A Kindling Forest isn't about straightforward challenges.
Gameplay Mechanics:
Prepare for constant motion! The screen scrolls relentlessly, presenting a barrage of sharp, unpredictable obstacles. Your options are clear: evade or eliminate them with your arrows.
Arrows are your key to survival, acting as a lifeline provided by the forest spirits. Run out, and it's game over. Precision is paramount; every shot must count.
Across five increasingly challenging levels, you'll navigate treacherous terrain: leaping over spiders, teleporting through ruins, soaring above clouds, and even dodging fiery lava flows.
Strategic checkpoints offer reprieves, allowing you to restart and refine your approach after setbacks.
The game cleverly divides your screen: one half for jumping, the other for aiming. Timing is critical, with slow-motion assist during aiming for precise shots.
