"Dune: Awakening Delay: Three Weeks for Beta-Driven Changes"

Fans eagerly awaiting the launch of *Dune: Awakening*, the upcoming open-world survival MMO inspired by Frank Herbert's iconic sci-fi novels and Denis Villeneuve's cinematic adaptations, will need to mark their calendars for a new release date. The game has been delayed and is now set to launch on June 10, 2025. Developer Funcom shared this news and also announced that early access will be available starting June 5 for those who purchase the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition.

Explaining the delay, Funcom cited valuable feedback from the ongoing Persistent Closed Beta, stating that the extra time would allow the development team to "cook" the game further. This period will also enable the implementation of requested changes and discoveries made during the beta phase. Additionally, the delay paves the way for a large-scale beta weekend next month, offering even more players a chance to experience *Dune: Awakening* and provide their insights.

While the delay might disappoint some eager fans, Funcom is keeping the excitement alive with a combat livestream scheduled for later today at 12pm ET/9am PT. This stream will dive deep into the game's PvP and PvE mechanics, archetypes, and skills, giving fans a closer look at what to expect.

Here at IGN, we're thrilled about *Dune: Awakening*. As we mentioned in our hands-on preview, "It's easy to be skeptical about an MMO survival game set in the Dune universe, but after a few bouts of dehydration and sunstroke, the day I spent in Arrakis convinced me that *Dune: Awakening* is one to watch."

For those looking to dive deeper, be sure to check out details on the MMO's business model, post-launch plans, and the in-depth gameplay trailer that was revealed at Gamescom ONL last year.
