The cards we're revealing today are part of the "Through the Ages" bonus sheet included in the main set. These cards are reprints of existing Magic cards, adorned with stunning concept art and characters from various Final Fantasy games. While they don't introduce new mechanics or unique cards like those in the recently showcased or Commander deck reveals, they feature art spanning back to the original Final Fantasy game.

Unlike the main set cards, the Through the Ages cards are not legal in Magic's Standard format (unless the original card already was), serving as alternate art versions. However, you can find these cards in both the premium Collector Boosters and one in every three regular Play Boosters, which are perfect for Limited events like Draft and Sealed.
If you're planning to dive deep into this set, whether at your local game store or digitally on platforms like Magic: The Gathering Arena, you'll likely encounter these cards often. Five of the six cards are Rares, making them a bit scarcer, but Thrum of the Vestige stands out as an Uncommon. This card is a reskin of the iconic Lightning Bolt, and it could have a significant impact on the set.
The Warrior of Light reprint of Jodah, the Unifier, is set to be a fan favorite. Jodah is a powerful and widely used Commander, and the art here is taken from Amano's original Japanese boxart for Final Fantasy. Similarly, Amano's iconic artwork for Final Fantasy 4's Cecil Harvey has been repurposed for Tymna the Weaver, one of Magic's strongest partner commanders, which has only been reprinted once before.
These cards will be available in physical form as part of the larger Final Fantasy set on June 13, with digital versions launching on MTG Arena and MTGO on June 10. Even if you're a Final Fantasy enthusiast not yet into Magic, there's plenty to be excited about. Tetsuya Nomura, the director of the FF7 Remake series, hinted that the design of Sephiroth on one card holds a mysterious significance.
