Playing cricket in tight alleys is often seen as more thrilling than on traditional fields, especially in India. Recently, an independent Indian studio named 5th Ocean Studios launched their latest cricket game, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, in Open Beta on Android.
Unlike conventional cricket simulations, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket is a 4v4 multiplayer experience set right in the heart of Indian gullies—narrow lanes familiar to locals. As the first-ever 4v4 street cricket game, it introduces unique elements such as rooftop catches, obstacles like scooters, and the occasional scolding from nosy neighbors urging you to stop breaking windows. The game also supports solo play in 1v1 mode, adding flexibility for individual gamers.
In Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, players can execute powerful moves and communicate with their teammates via voice chat. Taunts, emojis, and even sneaky tactics add layers of engagement to the gameplay. The environments are vibrant, featuring realistic Indian neighborhood settings where life unfolds around you—think broken stumps, makeshift pitches, and unpredictable bounces off uneven walls.
Customization options abound, allowing players to create their gangs, dress them in stylish outfits, and unlock various skins.
Currently in Open Beta, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket promises exciting updates ahead, including new street maps, fresh outfits, regular events, clan wars, and an esports mode. Leaderboards, daily and weekly challenges, and competitive gang battles are also on the horizon. While the game is available exclusively on Android for now, plans include expanding to iOS and Steam platforms. Full controller support and cross-platform functionality are being developed to enhance accessibility.
