In *Phasmophobia*, using special Cursed Possessions can be a thrilling way to track down and confront the most elusive ghosts. Among these, the Haunted Mirror stands out as a particularly useful tool, offering significant rewards with a manageable risk. If you're hesitant about using it, understanding its mechanics can help you make the most of this powerful item.

How to Use the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is widely considered one of the safest Cursed Objects in *Phasmophobia*. Its utility has remained consistent through numerous updates, making it a highly recommended tool during your investigations. The mirror provides a panoramic view of the ghost's current favorite room or area on the map, which can significantly expedite your search and help you set up equipment before the situation escalates.

You'll typically find the Haunted Mirror hanging on a wall, such as at 6 Tanglewood Drive, or lying on the floor at its predetermined location. Remember, Cursed Objects always spawn in the same spot on a given map, though the type of object that appears is randomized.

To use the Haunted Mirror, pick it up and interact with it using the appropriate button on your mouse or controller to hold it up. You'll see the ghost's current favorite room in the mirror's reflection. On Professional difficulty or higher, keep in mind that the ghost might move to a different area after some time.

However, be cautious not to gaze into the Haunted Mirror for too long. Prolonged viewing will drain your sanity, and if you hold it up until the mirror shatters, a Cursed Hunt will initiate at your location. Use it when your sanity is high and quickly interpret the reflection to avoid these risks.

Cursed Possessions, often referred to as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in *Phasmophobia* that randomly spawn on any map, influenced by factors like difficulty settings or Challenge Mode. Unlike standard equipment that helps locate and gather evidence of ghostly activity with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts to manipulate the ghost, but at a higher risk to your character.

The safety of using these objects varies depending on their abilities, and it's up to you and your team to decide whether to use them. There's no penalty for choosing not to. Typically, only one Cursed Possession will spawn per contract, unless modified in Custom settings.

The game features seven different Cursed Objects:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
