KonoSuba: Fantastic Days to Conclude Service in January 2025
The popular mobile RPG, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days, developed by Sesisoft, will be ending its service on January 30th, 2025. Both the global and Japanese servers will shut down simultaneously after a nearly five-year run. However, a glimmer of hope remains for fans.
An offline version is reportedly under development, aiming to preserve the core experience. This offline version is planned to include the main storyline, major quests, and key events, allowing players to relive their favorite moments. Details regarding the offline version’s release and features are still scarce.
In-App Purchases and Refunds
The developers are handling the shutdown responsibly. Official channels will close on February 28th, 2025. In-app purchases have been disabled since October 31st, 2024. Players can still utilize existing Quartz and in-game items until the service ends. Refunds for unused Quartz or unclaimed purchases from early 2024 are available until January 30th, 2025.
A Look Back at KonoSuba: Fantastic Days
Initially launched in Japan in February 2020 and globally in August 2021, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days was the first mobile game adaptation of the KonoSuba franchise. The game offered a charming narrative set in a world threatened by the Devil King's army, complemented by appealing visuals and a visually novel-style story mode.
Unfortunately, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days shares the fate of many gacha RPGs, succumbing to the challenges faced by the genre. The rising costs of maintaining high production values and declining player engagement have contributed to its closure, mirroring the trend of several anime-based games shutting down this year.
With only a few months remaining, fans who haven't experienced KonoSuba: Fantastic Days are encouraged to download it from the Google Play Store before the servers go offline. For more gaming news, check out our coverage of Orna: The GPS MMORPG's Conqueror's Guild.
