Veteran actor Michael Douglas, known for his role as Hank Pym in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), has indicated that he is likely finished with the franchise. Douglas has graced the screen as the shrinking scientist in four major films, including all three Ant-Man movies—the latest being the 2023 release, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania—and Avengers: Endgame.

With production underway for Avengers: Doomsday, speculation is rife about whether fans will see Hank Pym make one final appearance. However, Douglas has poured cold water on those hopes. In a recent interview with Deadline, he stated, "I don't think so," when asked about reprising his role in future Marvel projects. He elaborated on his experience, saying, "I had the experience, and I was excited to do it."

Douglas, who has largely retired from acting, with Marvel films being his only recent big-screen outings, continues to thrive as a producer, boasting over a dozen credits in that role. He shared his thoughts on working with green screens for the first time on Marvel projects, saying, "But I'm enjoying my hiatus and enjoying my life. It was overwhelming running the production company and acting at the same time."

Previously, Douglas expressed a desire for Hank Pym to meet his end in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, believing it would provide a fitting conclusion to his character's arc and heighten the stakes for Paul Rudd's Ant-Man. However, Marvel's decision-makers opted for a different path.
