Minecraft Live 2025 has concluded, and Mojang has unveiled a plethora of exciting new features and upgrades for the iconic game. The first update of the year, named "Spring to Life," is set to launch on March 25. This update will enhance the Overworld by introducing new variants of cows, pigs, and chickens, along with ambient features such as the glittering firefly bush, falling leaves, and the soothing whispers of sand. These additions aim to make the game's biomes feel more immersive and alive, encouraging players to explore and engage with the environment in new ways.
The second game drop, while yet unnamed, promises intriguing new content. It will feature the introduction of the Dried Ghast block, which can be rehydrated to transform into a Ghastling—a smaller, baby version of the Ghast. With care, the Ghastling can grow into a Happy Ghast, a new mob variant that can be ridden using a specially crafted Ghast harness. This harness allows the Happy Ghast to carry up to four players, offering a unique way to traverse the Minecraft world. Additionally, the update introduces the Locator Bar at the bottom of the screen, helping players locate their friends, which will be particularly useful when flying on a Happy Ghast. Mojang highlights that the Happy Ghast will be a valuable asset for builders in Survival Mode, providing a sense of freedom akin to Creative Mode.
In addition to gameplay enhancements, Mojang announced a major visual upgrade dubbed "Vibrant Visuals." This upgrade aims to transform the visual experience of Minecraft without altering its core gameplay, marking the first step in a broader vision for the game's aesthetics.
Mojang also shared an exclusive clip from the upcoming "A Minecraft Movie" and announced a related in-game live event. Set to begin on March 25 and run until April 7, this event takes place in Midport Village where players can join Steve and his movie companions to defend the village from a piglin attack through three engaging mini-games. Completing all challenges during the event will reward players with the coveted Yearn cape.

Mojang also provided further information from their offices in Sweden, explaining their stance on not developing a Minecraft 2, keeping the game non-free-to-play, and their decision against using generative AI in game development.
