Indie studio We Are Muesli has unveiled their latest project, a narrative game titled In Their Shoes, set to launch in 2026 across mobile and PC platforms. The game has already garnered attention, earning a nomination for the 'A MAZE. 2025' awards in Berlin, a prestigious event celebrating independent and arthouse games.
Set in the vibrant and contradictory city of Milan, In Their Shoes invites players to immerse themselves in the lives of seven distinct characters. The game features 49 short interactive stories, each termed a "Moment," offering a window into the daily experiences of these characters.
Each Moment captures the essence of the characters' hesitations, routines, and the split-second decisions they face. Some stories unfold at a leisurely pace, allowing players to delve deep into the characters' thoughts, while others demand quick reactions, reflecting the urgency of real-life situations.
Unlike typical narrative games, In Their Shoes presents a narrative that is intentionally untidy. As players navigate through the fragmented stories, they uncover 26 hidden biographical details for each character, providing a rich, slice-of-life experience.
While the Play Store page is yet to be launched, the game's Steam page is already live. For a sneak peek, check out the announcement trailer below.
