Following today's Nintendo Direct presentation for the Switch 2, Nintendo has officially announced a retail price of $449.99.
The Nintendo Switch 2, launching on June 5, 2025, was fully unveiled today, with pre-orders set to begin on April 9.
“The Nintendo Switch 2 represents the next stage in home console gaming that you can take anywhere, building on eight years of innovation that started with the original Nintendo Switch,” stated Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa.
“I am confident that the new features, which broaden the potential for unique gameplay, make the Nintendo Switch 2 a significant step forward in our mission to bring smiles to people everywhere.”

The Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle is priced at $499.99 in the U.S., and includes the console plus a download code for Mario Kart World, available from the system's launch on June 5. Purchasing the standalone version of Mario Kart World costs $79.99, so the bundle effectively saves you $30 on the game.
It's common for there to be widespread speculation about a new console's price, but the Nintendo Switch 2's cost has been a particularly hot topic due to the unique economic climate. As industry experts noted back in January, factors like supply chain challenges and potential tariff changes may have influenced Nintendo's pricing strategy. Nonetheless, analysts also predict strong launch sales for the console, regardless of its final price point.
