Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration: Festive Fun and Shiny Pokémon!

Get ready to ring in 2025 with Pokémon GO's annual New Year's event! Running from December 30th to January 1st, this festive celebration offers themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and exciting rewards.

Following the December 21st-22nd Community Day event featuring returning Community Day Pokémon, the New Year's festivities kick off a week later.

This year's highlights include a boosted XP reward of 2,025 XP for each Excellent Throw, and a vibrant atmosphere filled with New Year's decorations and festive fireworks.

Prepare for increased encounters with special Pokémon! Look out for Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple sporting a party hat – and keep your eyes peeled for their Shiny variants!

ytRaids also get a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hatted Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet. All three boast increased Shiny encounter rates.

Complete Field Research and Timed Research tasks for even more Pokémon encounters. A $2 Paid Timed Research offers exclusive rewards including Premium Battle Passes, Lucky Eggs, Stardust, and event Pokémon encounters.

Don't forget the Ultra Holiday Box in the Pokémon GO Web Store ($4.99), containing storage upgrades and Rare Candies. And be sure to check for available Pokémon Go codes for extra freebies!
