Midjiwan Studios has unleashed a massive update for The Battle of Polytopia, completely revamping the Aquarion Tribe. This marks a significant refresh for the game's first special tribe, originally introduced in 2017.
The Aquarion receive a dramatic makeover. Their land units now sport mermaid tails, making them amphibious warriors equally at home in water or on land (though slower on land). This update introduces flooded terrain, allowing land and naval units to occupy the same spaces for the first time.
Buildings have also adapted to the aquatic environment. Construction on water is now possible, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, providing ideal bases for seafaring strategists. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops, a vital resource for the Aquarion, are permanently added.
New aquatic creatures join the fray. Sharks ambush, puffers provide long-range bombardment, and jellies unleash electric attacks. Returning favorites, the Trident and Crab units, are also present; the Crab now floods crossed tiles, synergizing with the mermaid units.
Curious? See it in action!
Midjiwan has revitalized the Aquarion Tribe. Note that Lost Cities now appear at level 3, complete with protective walls.
