Grasshopper Manufacture and its visionary creator Goichi "Suda51" Suda made a explosive return during last night's State of Play, unveiling the brutal trailer for their upcoming sci-fi action title Romeo Is a Dead Man after a prolonged silence from the studio.
The developers emphasize that extreme violence serves as the game's core selling point, offering players an arsenal of weapons to "create visceral bloodbaths while experiencing unprecedented levels of hyper-stimulating combat."
"Our team is currently working at maximum capacity to complete development. In the past, we'd be bringing sleeping bags to the office by this stage, but now we prioritize proper rest for everyone," Suda51 commented.
"I'll always remember our manic all-nighters during early days, even receiving overtime warnings. Final development phases feel like the chaotic night before a school festival – it reminds me of Beautiful Dreamer. Maybe you're too young to know that film? It's worth streaming if you can find it."
Romeo Is a Dead Man delivers ultra-violent sci-fi action crafted by Grasshopper Manufacture. Players control FBI Space-Time agent Romeo Stargazer (an exceptional protagonist name) hunting fugitives across the cosmos. The 2026 release launches on PC (Steam/Microsoft), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
"The vague launch window makes sense, right?" Suda51 teased, clearly referencing GTA 6. "After 'That Game' announced its date, every publisher avoids overlapping. Imagine if we counter-programmed? Terrifying thought. See you later!"
Sony's summer showcase began with major impact, revealing numerous titles before Summer Games Fest. Highlights from PlayStation State of Play 2025 include 007 First Light, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, and Silent Hill f's release date.
