Rust Unveils Major Update with Improved Cooking and Farming

Rust, the renowned multiplayer survival game, has just released a game-changing update known as The Crafting Update. This patch significantly broadens the horizons of player creativity with a slew of innovative features. One of the standout additions is the culinary workbench, a new station where survivors can indulge in gourmet experiences by grilling chicken legs and enjoying them with a shot of Siberian vodka. Cooking now involves following specific recipes, and the rewards are substantial—masterfully prepared dishes grant stat boosts and gameplay modifiers that can give players a competitive edge.

For those interested in farming, chickens and chicks can now be kept in coops, where they will live, lay eggs, and flourish if given the right care. Each chick has four critical needs: Hunger, Thirst, Love, and Sunlight. Failing to meet any of these requirements could lead to their demise. The meat from chickens will spoil over time, becoming unusable unless preserved in a working refrigerator. Additionally, food items now come with timers showing their expiration dates, adding a layer of strategic management to the game.

Players with a penchant for sweets will be thrilled to discover wild beehives on trees. Extracting honeycombs requires careful handling and relocating them to player-crafted hives made from wooden boxes. Bees pose a significant threat, so players must equip protective suits, soak themselves in water, or resort to flamethrowers to avoid stings. A new weapon, the Bee Grenade, looks like a jar of honey but, when broken, releases three swarms of aggressive bees, compelling players to seek immediate safety.

The engineering workbench has undergone a complete overhaul, introducing a separate tech tree dedicated to plumbing and electricity. This upgrade empowers players to construct sophisticated automated systems and even entire factories, pushing the boundaries of what's possible within the game. Additionally, the developers have introduced premium servers, exclusive to players with a Rust inventory worth at least $15. This initiative aims to create a more enjoyable experience by filtering out cheaters and disruptive elements, ensuring a smoother gameplay environment for dedicated fans.
