S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Trilogy Gets Next-Gen Upgrade

GSC Game World reveals S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy - Enhanced Edition, a next-generation remaster of the iconic trilogy launching May 20 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The Enhanced Edition bundles modernized versions of Shadow of Chernobyl (2007), Clear Sky (2008), and Call of Pripyat (2009), featuring complete visual overhauls, next-gen optimizations, and enhanced modding capabilities.

Current owners of the trilogy on Xbox Series X/S or PS5 will automatically receive the Enhanced Edition upgrades at no additional cost.

PC players receive special treatment: existing owners get free Enhanced Edition upgrades, while new purchases include both versions. The trilogy bundle retails for $39.99 ($19.99 per individual title).

Note: Cross-platform save functionality isn't available - progression remains platform-specific.

The console versions offer flexible performance options:
• Standard 30FPS/60FPS modes
• VRR-exclusive 40FPS and 120FPS modes for compatible displays

Three graphics presets optimize the experience:
• Quality Balanced: Visual fidelity focus
• Performance: Smooth framerates
• Ultra Performance: Max refresh rates (VRR required)

Resolution breakdown:
• Xbox Series X/PS5/PS5 Pro: 4K/30FPS native, 4K/40FPS balanced, 4K/60FPS performance, 2K/120FPS ultra
• Xbox Series S: 2K/30FPS native, 2K/40FPS balanced, 1080p/60FPS performance

Visual upgrades (all platforms):

• Advanced lighting with god rays and global illumination
• 4K textures and redesigned character models
• Enhanced water shaders and dynamic skies
• Crisp 4K cutscenes and improved weapon field-of-view

Console-exclusive enhancements:
