Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the resounding success of Helldivers 2 (released last year to critical acclaim), is currently developing a new, high-concept game. Creative director Johan Pilestedt recently took to social media, soliciting fan input on the project's direction.

Community suggestions ranged widely, including a Smash TV remake and various Star Fox-inspired concepts. Pilestedt acknowledged past internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and also mentioned exploring a Star Fox-esque "rail game."

While specifics remain under wraps, Arrowhead's proactive community engagement is evident. The studio's next title faces high expectations, given Helldivers 2's status as a standout game of 2024.

A recent Helldivers 2 update, including the long-awaited Illuminate enemy faction, the 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps, has significantly boosted player numbers on PS5. The update, "Omens of Tyranny," was a surprise release at the 2024 Game Awards, and has been well-received.

This update has clearly delighted Helldivers 2 players. Coupled with rumors of a Killzone crossover, the game appears poised for continued success in 2025.
