Finnish game developer Supercell has surprised fans with a twist on their cancelled RPG, Clash Heroes. Instead of abandoning the concept entirely, they've announced Project R.I.S.E., a reimagining of the game as a social action RPG roguelite.
Supercell confirmed the cancellation of Clash Heroes, echoing the fate of Clash Mini. However, the core elements of Clash Heroes are being reborn in Project R.I.S.E., a multiplayer-focused title set within the familiar Clash universe.
Game lead Julien Le Cadre confirmed the news in a recent announcement video, stating that while Clash Heroes is indeed cancelled, Project R.I.S.E. offers a fresh, multiplayer-centric action RPG experience.
For more details, watch the announcement video:
Project R.I.S.E. shares some DNA with Clash Heroes but is a completely new game. It's a social action RPG roguelite where players team up in groups of three to conquer The Tower, a mysterious structure with procedurally generated floors. Unlike its predecessor's solo PvE focus, Project R.I.S.E. emphasizes cooperative gameplay and diverse character selection.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Registration is open on the official website.
