Umamusume: Pretty Derby Arrives Globally on Steam

The acclaimed horse girl racing simulator Umamusume: Pretty Derby is galloping toward its international debut. Cygames confirmed via Twitter on April 27 that the global version will launch June 26, 2025, with pre-registration beginning April 28.

Originally released exclusively in Japan on February 24, 2021 for mobile and PC platforms, the game presents a unique concept where legendary racehorses are reincarnated as anthropomorphic "horse girls" - schoolgirls with equine ears, tails, and athletic abilities. These characters train at Tokyo's Tracen Academy, striving to become both champion racers and pop idols.

According to Steam's official description, players can "recruit promising trainees and supporters while experiencing immersive sports simulation through advanced training mechanics and premium 3D visuals." With a gacha system featuring over 20 unique horse girls, players develop their roster to compete in races and dazzling performances.

Industry reports reveal the Japanese version has generated over $2.5 billion in mobile revenue since launch, including nearly $1 billion in its first year. Cygames aims to replicate this phenomenal success worldwide with the English release.
