With Version 5.5, Genshin Impact Is Finally Adding Controller Support for Android

Android users rejoice! Genshin Impact is finally getting controller support! The long-awaited feature arrives with Version 5.5, launching March 26th, 2025. This is great news, especially considering iOS players gained this functionality back in 2021.

When Will Genshin Impact Get Controller Support on Android?

Starting March 26th, 2025, you can connect your Android device to a controller and ditch the touchscreen for a more comfortable Genshin Impact experience. Version 5.5 will officially support the DualShock 4, DualSense, Xbox Wireless Controller, and Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2—all requiring Bluetooth connectivity.

Beyond controller support, Version 5.5 boasts several quality-of-life improvements. Cross-scene quest tracking lets you seamlessly track quests across different areas, simply by opening the map and teleporting directly to your objective. Boss guides are also receiving an update to better assist new players in understanding enemy mechanics. Further optimizations are coming to the Artifact system, Serenitea Pot, and Mail system, with full details unveiled during the Special Program Announcement on March 14th.
