Nonograms, also known as Hanjie, Griddlers, Picross, Japanese Crosswords, Japanese Puzzles, Pic-a-Pix, "Paint by numbers," and other names, are engaging picture logic puzzles. In these puzzles, you color or leave blank cells in a grid based on numbers provided at the grid's edges, revealing a hidden image. These numbers represent discrete tomography, indicating the count of unbroken lines of filled squares in each row or column. For instance, a clue like "4 8 3" signifies sets of four, eight, and three filled squares, separated by at least one blank cell.

Solving a nonogram requires you to identify which cells should be filled (boxes) and which should remain empty (spaces). Marking spaces accurately is just as crucial as filling boxes, as it helps in determining the spread of clues later on. Solvers often use dots or crosses to mark cells they are sure are spaces.

It's essential to avoid guessing; only fill cells that logic dictates. A single incorrect guess can spread errors across the entire puzzle, ruining the solution.
