How to Play Okey Game
The offline Okey game typically involves four players, each using a cue stick to sort their tiles. The game includes tiles in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13, along with two fake Okey tiles. In total, there are 106 tiles in the game.
At the start, all tiles are shuffled and automatically distributed among the players. The player to the left of the dealer receives 15 tiles, while the others get 14. Players then arrange their tiles according to the cue stick into groups or pairs.
Tiles not distributed are placed in the center of the table, and an open numbered tile becomes the indicator tile. The tile matching the color and number of the indicator becomes the Okey tile, which can substitute for any tile in the game. Finishing the game with an Okey tile doubles the points earned.
Normal Tile Arrangement in Okey Game
Players aim to arrange their tiles into at least three pairs. These pairs can be formed in two ways: sequentially by color or by matching numbers across colors.
Pair Formation in Okey Game
To win by forming pairs, players must arrange all their tiles into pairs and finish the game by discarding the last tile when they have seven pairs.
Indicator Rule in Okey Game
At the start of a new game, the player next to the dealer reveals the indicator tile. If it's an Okey-colored tile, other players lose 2 points.
End of Okey Game
The game ends in various ways: a normal finish (non-Okey tile discarded) results in a 2 or 4 point deduction from other players depending on the tile color. Finishing with seven pairs deducts 4 points from opponents. Completing a color series from 1 to 13 nullifies other players' points, while an irregular color series deducts 8 points from opponents.
