Palace - Free Classic Card Game (Also Known As Shed, Karma or "OG")
Palace was the ultimate cafeteria card game during my 1990s high school days. Wikipedia notes its popularity among backpackers has made it widely recognized worldwide.
New Features:
- Added player-requested options (pick up pile anytime and 7 forces lower card play)
- Implemented multiplayer functionality to challenge friends
Challenge eight unique computer opponents with distinct playing styles or compete live against friends.
Game Rules:
Initial Setup:
- Each player receives 3 face-down cards (unviewable until game's end)
- 3 face-up cards are placed atop the hidden cards
- Players get 3 additional cards for their current hand
- Optional card swapping between hand and face-up cards
Gameplay:
- The player holding a 3 (or next lowest available card) starts
- Each turn requires discarding equal/higher ranked cards than the pickup pile's top card
- Players must maintain minimum 3 cards in hand by drawing from deck
- Wild Cards: 2s reset the pile, 10s clear it completely
- Four-of-a-kind clears the pile like a 10
- Failure to play requires collecting the entire pile
Winning:
- When hand empties and deck exhausts, play face-up cards
- When face-up cards finish, play face-down cards
- First player to discard all cards wins
