READY! for Kindergarten

READY! for Kindergarten stands as the premier school readiness program offered by The Children's Reading Foundation. Specifically designed for children aged 2 to 5, it also caters to older children who might need a boost in core skills. The READY! for Kindergarten app is a powerful tool that prepares your child for future learning and success in school through engaging, interactive gameplay. Each game within the app targets a specific core skill, and these games are crafted for repeated play, as young children thrive on hundreds of repetitions in a nurturing and supportive setting.

To gain deeper insights into the skills each game develops, simply tap the "i" icon located in the lower right corner of each game icon. As your child progresses through the games, the app meticulously tracks their performance and sends this data to the reports section. This feature allows you to monitor your child's progress in various skill areas and compare their achievements with those of other children of similar age across the U.S. This comparison can help you pinpoint and focus on areas where your child might need extra attention.

For children aged 2 to 5, the app's games are meticulously designed to teach crucial skills such as singing the ABC song, matching letter shapes, pronouncing letter sounds, expanding vocabulary, counting to 30 by rote, and recognizing emotions. These skills are part of the 26 Age-Level Targets that form the foundation of the READY! program. These targets, developed over seven years by early learning experts in collaboration with families, scientists, and educators, represent the essential skills a typical 5-year-old should master before starting kindergarten.

The effectiveness and excellence of READY! for Kindergarten have been recognized with a Top 100 Award from District Administration Magazine in 2013.
