The Self-Employed Workers' Social Scheme (RSTI) is an innovative social security program introduced by the National Social Security Fund (CNPS) in Côte d'Ivoire. Designed specifically for self-employed individuals, RSTI offers vital protection against illness, accidents, and maternity, while also ensuring a lifetime pension upon retirement.
Who is a Self-Employed Worker?
The RSTI targets all self-employed workers residing in Côte d'Ivoire, whether they are Ivorian or foreign nationals. This includes a diverse range of professions such as farmers, artisans, traders, transporters, athletes, artists, consultants, miners, non-salaried entrepreneurs, religious figures, and even Ivorians working abroad. This comprehensive coverage ensures that self-employed individuals have access to the social security benefits they deserve.
What are the Advantages of RSTI?
RSTI offers numerous benefits tailored to the needs of self-employed workers. In the event of illness or an accident leading to incapacity, you will receive income based on what you've declared to the CNPS. Maternity benefits are also provided, with the beneficiary receiving income for 98 days. Upon reaching the age of 60, self-employed individuals can enjoy a retirement pension that is paid for life. In the unfortunate event of death, this pension is transferred to designated beneficiaries under specific conditions.
