Essential gameplay rules:

Following the deal, players alternately pass or bid their predicted trick count above six in any suit or no-trump. The auction continues until three consecutive passes occur.

After the opening lead, players must follow suit when possible or play trump cards strategically. Trick winners initiate subsequent plays. Contracts succeed when declarers meet their bid targets while defenders attempt prevention.

Following the opening lead, dummy's hand becomes visible to all players. Declarer manages both their own and dummy's cards throughout play.

Scoring awards contract points for successful bids or assigns penalty points for failures. Teams compete to win two of three games (reaching 100+ points each) to claim the rubber.
