Story
The DC universe encompasses multiple parallel dimensions existing simultaneously, known as alternative universes. In these realms, events unfold differently, leading to a variety of outcomes.
The game is set in a fictional alternative universe where Superman, after being tricked into killing his pregnant wife Lois and millions of civilians in a tragic nuclear accident, becomes corrupted. He brutally takes down the Joker, the mastermind behind the tragedy, and begins his tyrannical control over the planet.
With his mind corrupted, Superman sees himself as the supreme deity tasked with maintaining peace and order. He loses his senses and will kill anyone he deems guilty.
This tyranny cannot continue without leading the planet to destruction. A group of superheroes, forming the Insurgency with Batman at the helm, stands against this dictatorship. Despite their formidable powers, they cannot defeat Superman's One Earth Regime and require assistance.
