Developed by Schell Games and published by Innersloth, Among Us 3D is set to launch on May 6, 2025. The announcement was made via the game’s official Twitter (X) account on April 16, marking a major milestone for fans eagerly awaiting the next evolution of the beloved social deduction series.

Originally known as Among Us VR, the title was rebranded to Among Us 3D to reflect its expanded vision—offering a more inclusive, cross-play-enabled multiplayer experience beyond virtual reality. This shift allows both VR and non-VR players on PC to enjoy the game together, broadening its accessibility.

Earlier this week, the team also introduced Stardust, a new in-game currency that doesn’t expire. This permanent currency gives players greater freedom to unlock cosmetics and personalize their crewmate experience at their own pace.

Among Us 3D brings a host of new features, including a permanent Tag Mode with the Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, refreshed and returning mini-games, and a wide array of new cosmetic options.

It’s important to note: Among Us 3D is a standalone title and separate from the original Among Us VR, which launched in 2022. Cross-play between the two titles is not supported. According to the official FAQ on Schell Games’ website, the decision to develop them separately enables the team to deliver high-quality updates to both versions independently.

They stated, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."

Wishlist Campaign: Powered By Wishlists Challenge

Among Us 3D is now available for wishlist on Steam, and with it comes the “Powered By Wishlists Challenge”—a community-driven campaign offering exclusive in-game rewards based on wishlist milestones. Here’s what players can earn:

● 444,444 Wishlists – Another New Hat
● 555,555 Wishlists – A Cosmetic Surprise
● 777,777 Wishlists – Suspiciously New Exciting Cosmetic(s)

While the final two rewards remain under wraps, fans can expect unique and exciting cosmetic items to kick off their adventure in style. The more players wishlist, the greater the loot for the entire community.
