If you're in the market for a high-end prebuilt PC, you might be pleasantly surprised by the deals available right now. Dell is currently offering an incredible discount on the Alienware Aurora R16 equipped with a GeForce RTX 4090, priced at just $2,899.99 after a $1,000 instant discount. This is a rare opportunity to snag an RTX 4090 gaming PC for under $3,000, especially as standalone RTX 4090 cards are seeing price increases and can cost upwards of $2,000 from reputable sellers. Opting for a prebuilt PC not only saves you money but also provides the convenience of an all-inclusive warranty.

$3,699.99 save 22% $2,899.99 at Alienware

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC boasts an Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, a GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 2TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core i9-14900KF is renowned as the top gaming and productivity CPU from Intel's 14th generation lineup. Despite its tendency to run hot, it's efficiently cooled by a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. The system is powered by a robust 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 4090 stands out as the most powerful GPU currently available, outpacing all other cards from NVIDIA and AMD. As Chris Coke noted in his review, "The RTX 4090 may be huge and expensive, but holy smokes if it doesn’t blow the competition out of the water... Until the rest of the pack can catch up, between its impressive hardware specs and its DLSS 3 AI wizardry, even the $1,599 price doesn’t seem unreasonable for the unrivaled frame rates that this card can crank out." With this GPU, you can enjoy any game at 4K resolution with ultra settings and ray tracing enabled, delivering high frame rates even for the most demanding new releases like Black Myth: Wukong or Warhammer Space Marine 2. Additionally, the RTX 4090 is the preferred consumer card for AI applications, thanks to its 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM.

A note on RTX 5000 series GPUs

NVIDIA is set to launch its next generation of GPUs at the end of January, with the RTX 5090 expected to offer superior performance at a higher price point. The Founder's Edition will retail for $2,000, though availability might be limited. The RTX 5080, launching at $999, may also face availability issues. While we plan to benchmark these new cards soon, they will come with less VRAM than the RTX 4090 (16GB vs 24GB) and may not fully eclipse the RTX 4090's dominance.

A note on Alienware's newest "R16" desktop chassis

The Alienware Aurora R16 represents the brand's 2024 desktop PC design, boasting a 40% reduction in volume compared to its predecessors. It features an efficient airflow system, drawing air through side intake vents and a 120mm front fan, and expelling it via a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. The 240mm radiator for the all-in-one liquid cooling system is mounted to these top fans. While some configurations may not include liquid cooling, we generally recommend opting for it due to its superior performance over Alienware's stock air cooling. Note that Dell introduced a new Area 51 chassis at CES 2025, but it closely resembles the R16 in design and appearance.
