In a post on Twitter/X today, Bethesda's official account revealed plans for a major announcement tomorrow at 8am PT/11am ET on YouTube and Twitch. While they didn't specify the exact subject, the prominent "IV" in the center of the image and the background resembling a well-known piece of official Oblivion art strongly suggest the content of the announcement.
Rumors about an Oblivion remake have circulated for years, gaining credibility with recent leaks. Initial hints emerged from a 2020 Bethesda release schedule revealed during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, outlining an Oblivion remaster planned for fiscal year 2022. Though the document was outdated at the time, seemingly indicating a canceled project, new evidence surfaced this January. These leaks described the project as a complete remake, developed by Bethesda with support from Virtuos. Last week, Virtuos' own website seemingly confirmed these reports by showcasing in-development images of the remake.
If recent leaks are accurate, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered will be available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, featuring both a standard edition and a Deluxe Edition that includes the iconic horse armor.
Tune in tomorrow for the official confirmation and additional details.
