Crunchyroll, the leading anime streaming service, has just released the critically acclaimed Crypt of the NecroDancer on Android devices. This rhythm-based roguelike adventure game, simply titled "Crunchyroll: NecroDancer" on mobile platforms, offers a unique blend of beat-matching gameplay and dungeon crawling.
Originally launched on PC in April 2015 by Brace Yourself Games, the game previously saw limited releases on iOS (2016) and Android (2021). This Crunchyroll-backed relaunch, however, brings a wealth of new content to both iOS and Android users.
What awaits players in Crypt of the NecroDancer?
Players step into the shoes of Cadence, a treasure hunter's daughter searching for her missing parent within a rhythmically challenging crypt. The roguelike nature ensures each playthrough is unique. Fifteen playable characters, each with distinctive styles, add replayability. Danny Baranowsky's original soundtrack provides the pulse, demanding players move and attack in time with the music. Failure to keep the beat results in swift defeat. Expect a colorful cast of enemies, from dancing skeletons to hip-hop-loving dragons.

More Than Just a Port
This mobile version goes beyond a simple port. Crunchyroll and the developers have enhanced the experience with remixes, fresh content, and even Danganronpa character skins for anime enthusiasts. Cross-platform multiplayer and mod support are also included. Further enriching the experience, a DLC featuring Hatsune Miku and the Synchrony expansion is planned for later in the year.
Crunchyroll subscribers can access this rhythm roguelike immediately via the Google Play Store. Stay tuned for more gaming news, including updates on the upcoming Star Trek Lower Decks x Doctor Who crossover!
