Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's End of Service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months of gameplay remaining before the servers are permanently closed.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered players a chance to battle alongside reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. Kabam recommends completing the remaining storyline before the game's closure.
Despite initial excitement among Disney fans, the game's extended beta period and infrequent content updates contributed to player attrition. The demanding shard collection system also proved a barrier for many, requiring significant in-game spending to fully develop characters. However, the game's artistic merit, with its creative and visually impressive character designs, remains undeniable.
A Surprising End
The EOS announcement comes as a shock, especially considering the recent release of new story content and the addition of Cinderella as a playable character just a week prior. This isn't Kabam's first abrupt game shutdown; Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off suffered similar fates.
