PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have officially announced that Ghost of Tsushima's sequel, Ghost of Yōtei, will hit the shelves on October 2, 2025. On April 23, the game unveiled a gripping new trailer titled "The Onryō’s List," which not only showcases the narrative and gameplay but also ends with the eagerly awaited release date.

Ghost of Yōtei takes players on a journey with Atsu, set in the heart of Ezo (present-day Hokkaido), where she seeks vengeance against the notorious Yōtei Six, the group responsible for her family's demise. Her mission is to hunt down each member of the gang - The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.

This standalone sequel is set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima and introduces a host of new weapons, mechanics, and features, building on the legacy of its predecessor.

Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way

In Ghost of Yōtei, players have the freedom to pursue the Yōtei Six in any sequence they choose, crafting their own path of retribution. Sucker Punch detailed the game's features on the PlayStation.blog on April 23, providing insights into Atsu's quest and the innovative ways it will unfold.

The game offers an enhanced exploration of the open world, giving players more freedom and diverse activities compared to Ghost of Tsushima. In addition to tracking down the Yōtei Six, players can engage in other thrilling pursuits in the expansive region of Ezo. According to the blog post, "Atsu can also track other dangerous targets and claim bounties, or seek out weapon sensei to learn new skills."

While exploring, fans will encounter familiar activities from the original game, including the beloved "Guiding Wind" feature. A new mechanic allows players to set up campfires anywhere in the open world, enhancing the sense of freedom in Ezo's vast landscape. The developers are excited to reveal more in the coming months.
