It's important to note that Sony will phase out PS4 games from the PlayStation Plus Essentials monthly offerings and the Game Catalog starting January 2026, focusing exclusively on PS5.
"As we transition to PS5, PS4 games will no longer be a primary benefit and will only be offered occasionally for PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and the Game Catalog," Sony stated. This change won't impact the monthly games players have already acquired, though Game Catalog titles "will remain accessible until they are rotated out" during the monthly updates.
"We are committed to enhancing the PlayStation Plus experience and optimizing member benefits, such as exclusive discounts, online multiplayer access, cloud save storage, and more," Sony added. "As we concentrate on PS5, we are excited to introduce new PS5 titles every month for your enjoyment."
