The official manga adaptation of Metaphor: ReFantazio has arrived, with its debut chapter available for free reading. Discover more about the manga and where to access it below.
Fans of Metaphor: ReFantazio can now enjoy the first chapter of its official manga, which has premiered on the MANGA Plus website at no cost. Developed through a collaboration between Atlus and publisher Shueisha, the manga features artwork by Japanese manga creator Yōichi Amano, known for works like Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden and Stealth Symphony.
The manga takes creative liberties compared to the original game's narrative, notably altering the opening timeline. Key differences in the first chapter include omitting certain introductory locations and introducing new scenes not present in the game, while reimagining how the hero meets his companions. Additionally, the protagonist's name is officially confirmed as Will, aligning with the game's default naming choice.
Subsequent chapters will be released simultaneously with the Japanese version, with the next update scheduled for February 19th.

Metaphor: ReFantazio marks Atlus' latest intellectual property, developed by Studio Zero under the direction of Katsura Hashino, the creative force behind Persona 3, 4, and 5. Players follow the protagonist (default name Will) and his fairy partner Gallica across the United Kingdom of Euchronia, striving to rescue the kingdom's prince from a deadly curse.
Amidst their quest, the king's assassination throws the realm into turmoil, leaving it leaderless. In response, the late monarch's final decree sets a new course—the kingdom's next ruler will be chosen by popular vote. This unforeseen turn draws the protagonist into a grand adventure far beyond his expectations.
Upon release, the game sold over one million copies globally within its first day, establishing it as Atlus' fastest-selling title to date, outpacing even Persona 3: Reload from earlier in 2024. It garnered exceptional critical praise, achieving top scores from reviewers and securing multiple honors at the 2024 Game Awards, including Best RPG, Best Art Direction, and Best Narrative.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is playable on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S.
