Monopoly GO! is set to launch into a thrilling new dimension with its latest event, the Monopoly GO x Star Wars collaboration. Following its successful Marvel partnership last year, this crossover marks one of the most ambitious projects yet from Scopely.
The event is scheduled to begin on May 1st and will run until July 2nd. The adventure starts in a unique setting—Mr. M's private cinema, where PEG-E, the beloved Monopoly GO robot, becomes engrossed in a Star Wars movie. Her fascination leads her and her friends into a dreamlike journey within the Star Wars galaxy, shifting the focus from properties and hotels to the epic battle between Jedi and Sith, and the eternal struggle of the light side versus the dark.
During the Monopoly GO x Star Wars event, players can dive into a new Star Wars GO! sticker album. This album unfolds like a comic book, reimagining the Star Wars universe through PEG-E’s creative lens. The stickers feature a roster of iconic characters, including R2-D2, C-3PO, BB-8, Yoda, Mace Windu, Luke, Rey Skywalker, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Grogu, Qui-Gon Jinn, and the Mandalorian.
The traditional Monopoly GO events are also getting a Star Wars makeover. Expect mini-games set on planets like Tatooine, including action at the Mos Espa Grand Arena, and perhaps even a podracing showdown between Qui-Gon and Mr. M.
The event was first showcased during Star Wars Celebration Japan. Beyond the characters and stickers, the gameplay is infused with Star Wars elements, featuring lightsabers, space travel, and a galactic atmosphere. Like previous events, players can collect various Star Wars-themed cosmetics, including tokens, shields, and emojis. Stay tuned to the game's social media channels for continuous updates and additional news throughout the event.
