Monster Hunter Wilds February Open Beta Features New Monsters and Content

Monster Hunter Wilds is gearing up for a second Open Beta, offering a fresh chance for players to experience the game before its official launch, and introducing exciting new features. Learn how to participate!

Hunt a New Beast!

Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? Fear not! A second beta test is scheduled for the first two weeks of February.

Following the success of the initial beta, this second phase gives players another opportunity to dive into the action before the game's February 28th release. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced the news via a video on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.

The beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This time around, players can hunt the Gypceros, a familiar foe from the series—a feature absent from the first beta.

Character data from the first beta carries over and transfers to the full game, though progress won't be saved. Participants receive in-game rewards: a decorative Stuffed Felyne Teddy (attachable to weapons or Seikret) and a special bonus item pack for a smoother early game experience.

"Many of you missed the first beta, or wanted a second chance," Tsujimoto explained. "This second beta is for you, while the team continues to refine the full game." A previous community update video detailed planned improvements, but these won't be in this beta phase as they are still under development.

Monster Hunter Wilds launches February 28th, 2025, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Get ready to hunt!
