Rifts are rarely good news in gaming, but Avid Games has embraced the chaos in their highly anticipated game, Eerie Worlds. Following the success of Cards, the Universe and Everything, Eerie Worlds plunges players into a world of monsters emerging from these very rifts.

Avid Games has crafted a visually stunning array of monsters, each inspired by real-world horrors from diverse mythologies and folklore.

The game boasts an impressively diverse roster, encompassing Japanese Yokai like Jikininki and Kuchisake, Slavic creatures such as Vodyanoy and Psoglav, and a host of other chilling entities including Bigfoot, Mothman, the Nandi Bear, and El Chupacabra. Each card includes detailed, researched descriptions, adding an educational element to the gameplay.

Eerie Worlds features four Alliances (Grimbald, Zerrofel, Rivin, and Synnig) and multiple Hordes, creating complex strategic depth. Monsters share properties within their Hordes, but not necessarily across them, leading to varied tactical possibilities.

Your monster collection, known as your Grimoire, can be upgraded by merging duplicate cards. While the game starts with 160 basic cards, merging unlocks many more, with additional cards planned for release soon.

Avid Games promises two more Hordes in the coming months, ensuring Eerie Worlds remains a challenging and engaging experience even with extensive playtime.

Gameplay involves a deck of nine monster cards and one world card, played over nine intense 30-second turns. Players must strategically manage mana, exploit synergies, and make critical decisions under pressure.
