Marvel Comics explores a thrilling scenario: What if the legendary Godzilla invaded the Marvel Universe? This premise drives a slate of special crossover one-shots, with IGN exclusively revealing the third installment – Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1.
Following March's Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and April's Godzilla vs Hulk #1, this explosive confrontation transports readers to the 1980s. Set after Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars (1984), the story catches Peter Parker adjusting to life with his new alien symbiote costume – just before Tokyo's most famous kaiju comes calling.
Writer Joe Kelly (The Amazing Spider-Man relaunch) teams with artist Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men), crafting a love letter to vintage Spidey comics. "This book channels the chaos of that era," Kelly tells IGN, "with Bradshaw perfectly balancing absurd spectacle and character gravitas."
While DC's recent Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong utilized MonsterVerse designs, Marvel's series spotlights the classic Toho Godzilla. The announcement follows IDW's charity anthology Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1.
