"Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to Feature Cloud Saves"

Nintendo has officially confirmed that the Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will indeed support cloud saves, putting to rest any previous concerns. Initially, fans were worried after a disclaimer on Nintendo's website suggested otherwise, stating that the game would not support the Nintendo Switch Online paid membership’s Save Data Cloud backup feature. However, Nintendo has since updated the information on their site, clarifying the situation.

The revised disclaimer now reads: "Save data created in the second save data slot in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition cannot be transferred to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch." This means that players will be able to transfer their saves from the original Switch to the Switch 2, but not vice versa. This clarification should reassure Switch 2 owners who were concerned about losing their progress.

Interestingly, the page for Donkey Kong Bananza has removed all references to cloud saves, leaving fans of that game in the dark about its save functionality. Meanwhile, the page for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition now includes a similar message regarding save transfers, indicating a consistent approach across these titles.

In other news, pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 have gone live, maintaining a price point of $449.99. As expected, the demand has been high. For those interested, IGN's Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order guide provides more detailed information on how to secure your console.
