DownloadMaximize your word count to achieve victory! Squares is a daily word puzzle demanding both strategy and skill, challenging players to complete squares on a grid to form words.
Gameplay: Connect letters in any direction—up, down, left, right, or diagonally—to create words. Your objective is to uncover all words hidden within the letter grid and accumulate the highest possible score.
Game Rules:
- Scoring: Each letter in a valid word earns 1 point (e.g., a five-letter word scores 5 points).
- Word Length: Words must contain at least four letters.
- Letter Usage: Each tile can only be used once per word.
- Invalid Words: Words with hyphens, proper nouns, offensive language, or uncommon terms are excluded.
Bonus Words:
The puzzle includes obscure, archaic, or slang terms. These bonus words don't contribute to your score but are listed separately. You can continue searching for them even after completing the main word list (post-game). Each puzzle also features a "Word of the Day," a special, often longer bonus word, awarding two extra hints upon successful discovery.
Daily Challenges: A new Squares puzzle is available daily at midnight.
Grid Rotation: Utilize the rotation buttons in the bottom right corner to change your perspective. Viewing the grid from different angles can aid in word discovery.
Letter Hints: After finding 40% of the words, a hint system activates, displaying a number next to each letter indicating how many words begin with that letter. A missing number signifies no words start with that letter. Letters turning orange indicate they've been used in all main words but might still appear in bonus words.
Hint System: Each puzzle offers 3 to 5 hints (lightbulb icons), revealing the first letter of a random word and its search direction. The number of hints depends on puzzle difficulty. Sharing the game link with friends grants an additional hint!
