Allah says in the Qur'an:
"And establish prayer for My remembrance." [20:14] "Indeed, successful are the believers who are humble in their prayers..." [23:1-2] "...Perform the prayer. Surely, prayer restrains from indecency and wrongdoing, and remembrance of Allah is surely greater..." [29:45]
From these verses, we understand that Salat helps us remember Allah, stay humble, and refrain from indecency and wrongdoing. But what's the reality? During Salat, we often think about business, jobs, farming, family issues, and daily life matters instead of focusing on our Lord. How humble are we before the Almighty, the Most Powerful and Honored?
Millions of Muslims perform their five daily prayers yet engage in forbidden actions immediately afterward (such as taking interest, lying, cursing, or cheating). Why does this happen?
It's because we don't know what we're truly saying when we stand, recite Quranic verses, bow, prostrate, or sit in prayer. At this moment, Salat becomes merely a ritual we perform without understanding its essence.
Is this the example of educated nations? It's crucial to know what you're reciting during Salat today.
"Whoever guides someone to goodness will have a reward equivalent to that of the one who follows his guidance, without detracting from the latter's reward in any way." [Sahih Muslim: 2678]
