Forza Horizon 5 PS Release Urged

No other PlayStation 5 racing game compares to Forza Horizon 5.

While The Crew Motorfest comes close with its festival-inspired format, and Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown pioneered the MMO racing concept that influenced Forza Horizon, neither quite matches Playground Games' masterpiece. Need for Speed Unbound excels in customization but prioritizes high-speed pursuits over Horizon's sandbox freedom.

Now arriving on PS5 for the first time, Forza Horizon 5 brings its stunning Mexican landscapes, impeccable vehicle handling, and unmatched car collection – including rare models absent from competitors' rosters. PlayStation players are experiencing this racing paradise anew.

The development team eagerly anticipates fresh perspectives from Sony's player base. "I'm super excited about brand-new players discovering Horizon," says Playground Games art director Don Arceta. Many will encounter the series for the first time, just as we did when we first played."

Arceta particularly looks forward to PS5 creations using Horizon 5's Event Lab toolkit: "With over 800 props available, seeing what this new community builds will be incredible." He adds with a smile, "PlayStation players will even get some cool Halo-themed props to work with!"

Porting this massive game to unfamiliar hardware proved challenging. "Adapting our Xbox-based engine for PS5 was no small feat," Arceta explains. "Panic Button did phenomenal work ensuring the PlayStation version matches the Xbox and PC experience."

Beyond its technical achievements, Horizon 5's greatest strength lies in its inclusivity. "The game's staggering breadth means every player finds their perfect experience," says lead designer David Orton. "Whether you're into competitive racing, photography, or creative event design, Horizon welcomes everyone."

The team hopes to elicit reactions like "How have I never played this before?" from newcomers. "That moment of delighted surprise validates everything," Arceta reflects. Orton agrees: "We want players to discover Horizon isn't just a racing game – it's a vibrant world that becomes your automotive playground."
